Abstract
For the roll-out of electric mobility by 2030, securing a nationwide coverage of public charging infrastructure is of utmost importance. This is highlighted in statements given by the Federal Ministry of Transport. What is currently missing, however, is a common definition of “nationwide charging infrastructure” as well as an evaluation of the status quo and targeted measures to promote its development. This report aims at generating a common understanding of the term “nationwide coverage”, at creating transparency with regard to the status quo and at rendering nationwide coverage measurable. It further provides recommendations for action to achieve nationwide coverage, addressed at decision-makers at local and national levels
