Abstract

Abgesehen von Sonderfällen drohen die städtischen Gewerbegebiete für die industrielle und handwerkliche Produktion zunehmend an Bedeutung zu verlieren. Um diese Gebiete zu Standorten moderner urbaner Produktion zu transformieren ist ein Zusammenwirken der Stadt bzw. der Kommune, der Immobilieneigentümer und der ansässigen oder neuer Betriebe erforderlich, die einen wechselseitigen Abstimmungs- und Anpassungsprozess durchlaufen müssen. Dieser muss strategisch von der Kommune initiiert und geführt werden.Apart from exceptions, urban commercial areas are facing a decline in importance for industrial production and manufacturing. To tackle this challenge and transform these areas into locations of modern urban manufacturing, a cooperation of city/municipality, property owners and existing or future companies is necessary. These three main actors have to initiate a process of iteration and modification which has to be initiated and managed by the municipality.
