Abstract
With more than 7,000 test customers, the VRS eTarif pilot project has already provided more than just valuable insights regarding ticket-pricing and distribution. lt has been especially pleasing to discover that it is not just younger, more digital-savvy people who have volunteered to partake in this project; in fact, older participants in particular are impressed not only by the innovative fare calculation, based on the shortest distance between stops, but also by simplified access via the mobile app. The VRS pilot project has demonstrated that new systems can effectively combine ease of access and fairness.
