Moravia manifiesto. Estrategias de codificación barrios populares.

Abstract

Im Rahmen einer weltweit rasant fortschreitenden Urbanisierung müssen insbesondere die informellen Siedlungen in den Städten des globalen Südens ins Zentrum unserer Aufmerksamkeit rücken. Denn ein Großteil der zukünftigen Stadtbewohner wird sich in diesen ungeplanten Erweiterungen urbaner Zentren niederlassen. Instrumente und Methoden klassischer Stadtplanung stehen diesem Phänomen bislang ratlos gegenüber. Neue Ansätze sind gefragt, die Top-Down-Planung und Bottom-Up-Initiativen miteinander verknüpfen, um nachhaltige und zukunftsfähige Lebensräume zu gestalten. Das Moravia Manifesto präsentiert alternative Planungsansätze eines internationalen Think-and-Do-Tanks, die gemeinsam mit lokalen Akteuren der informellen Siedlung Moravia im Herzen der kolumbianischen Metropole Medellín entwickelt wurden. Dieser neue Planungsansatz, Urban Coding, wird durch Essays und internationale Case Studies kontextualisiert. Er zeigt neue Wege auf, wie Planung, Politik, Wirtschaft und Verwaltung in Koproduktion mit lokalen Communities innovative und inklusive urbane Transformationsprozesse anstoßen und umsetzen können.In view of rapidly progressing urbanization worldwide, informal settlements, especially in the cities of the global south must be a focus of our attention because in the future, the majority of new city inhabitants will settle in these unplanned extensions of urban centers. The tools and methods of conventional urban planning have so far been unable to tackle this phenomenon. New approaches, combining top-down planning and bottom-up initiatives to create sustainable and viable living environments, are required. The Moravia Manifesto presents alternative planning approaches put forward by an international think-and-do tank, developed alongside local participants from the Moravia informal settlement at the heart of the Colombian metropolis Medellín. This new planning approach is contextualized by essays and international case studies. The urban coding planning approach demonstrates new ways in which planning, politics, economy, and administration can initiate and implement innovative and inclusive urban transformation processes together with local communities.
