Neue Züge für die Oberlandbahn. Eine Region steht im Stau: Was eine Regionalbahn dagegen machen kann.

Abstract

Das bayerische Oberland ist sowohl Quellgebiet für Pendler Richtung München als auch Zielgebiet für Münchner, die in die Berge und an die Seen fahren. Der massive Zuwachs des Straßenverkehrs erfordert eine starke Eisenbahn als Alternative. Die Bayerische Oberlandbahn GmbH bedient mit der BOB das Gebiet seit 1998. Anfällige Fahrzeuge vom Typ Integral und eine Mischflotte mit weiteren Talent-Fahrzeugen verhindern, trotz zahlreicher eingeleiteter Qualitätsmaßnahmen, eine zuverlässige und kundenorientierte Bedienung. Aus diesem Grund wurden verschiedene Fahrzeugtypen zur Ablösung analysiert und am Ende Dieselfahrzeuge für den Einsatz bis zur Elektrifizierung gekauft. Der Einsatz von Neufahrzeugen in einem laufenden Vertrag dient dabei dem Kunden und der Region und ist außergewöhnlich.The Bavarian Oberland is source region for comuters heading towards Munich as well as destination area for the inhabitants of Munich going into the mountains and to the lakes. The massive increase of road traffic requires a strong railway as alternative. The Bayerische Oberlandbahn GmbH is operating at this region with BOB since 1998. Despite of initiating numerous quality measures, a reliable and customer-oriented service couldn't be established due to a mixed fleet of unreliable vehicles type Integral and type Talent. Therefore, various vehicle concepts have been analysed as a replacement and in the end diesel trains have been bought in order to bridge the gap till electrification. The implementation of new vehicles while the contract is still running, is serving at the best of customers and the region and may be considered as unique.
