Abstract
Im Dezember 2014 nahm die Hamburger Hochbahn AG die Innovationslinie 109 in Betrieb. Seitdem sind auf der 9,3 km langen innerstädtischen Buslinie im Fahrgastbetrieb unter vergleichbaren Testbedingungen Busse mit verschiedenen innovativen Antriebskonzepten unterwegs. Neben Elektro-Hybridbussen Volvo 7900 Electric Hybrid kommen die in Hamburg bekannten Brennstoffzellenhybridbusse vom Typ Citaro FuelCell-Hybrid von Mercedes-Benz und diesel-elektrische Hybridbusse zum Einsatz. Seine Weltpremiere erlebte auf der Linie der Solaris Urbino 18,75 electric, ein Batteriebus mit Brennstoffzelle als Range-Extender. Die Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein setzen außerdem erfolgreich einen knapp 8 m langen Elektrobus im Blankeneser Treppenviertel ein.

Since then, on the 9.3 km inner-city bus line, busses for passenger service have been driving around in comparable circumstances but with different driving concepts. Besides the Volvo 7900 electro-hybrid busses, the Citaro Fuel Cell-Hybrid by Mercedes-Benz which is already well-known in Hamburg and some diesel-electric hybrid busses are utilized. Also the Solaris Urbino 18, 75 electric, a battery bus with fuel cells as range-extender, has experienced its world premiere on this line. The Hamburg-Holstein transport company also successfully operates a nearly 8m electro bus in the Blankenese stairs-quarter.
