Abstract
A collaborative research project on biogas feed-in, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, aims at evaluating the potential of biogas feed-in to protect the climate in a realistic way and at analysing factors preventing the activation of its potential. This is why the supply of biomass as well as the production, processing, feed-in and distribution of biogas via the natural gas network are principally analysed within a concrete spatial context. The analysis therefore required to take the spatial reference of various information and data into account, which are produced along the process chain from substratum growing to feeding biogas into the natural gas network. It was done by means of geographical information systems.
