Abstract
Within the state of optimization of transport companies, it becomes more and more difficult to compensate increasing price levels and thereby show lowering deficits. So, success in optimization is becoming all the rarer when comparing the annual financial statements. Therefore, the monitoring application was developed to define especially that part of the result alterations which is to be influenced by the management and hence completing the category of classical controlling instruments. The results of this monitoring application illustrate the success in optimization. They serve as a basis for an objective communication and are eminently suitable for target agreements or so called restructuring contracts. This article reports on several years of project experience at Duisburg.
