Abstract
Im Elsass ging am 11. Dezember 2010 die erste echte Tram-Train in Frankreich in Betrieb. Die 22 km lange Linie zwischen Mulhouse Rondpoint Stricker und Thann kostete 147 Mio Euro, 31 Prozent mehr als 1998 geplant. Tram-Trains können nur unter strikten Sicherheitsbedingungen auf einer gleichen Strecke wie die Eisenbahn fahren. Es muss technisch ausgeschlossen sein, dass ein Fahrzeug ein Halt anzeigendes Signal überfährt! Das bedeutet, dass alle Signale von mit Tram-Trains befahrenen Gleisbildern gesichert und alle Fahrzeuge, mit den entsprechenden Sicherheitsgeräten ausgerüstet sein müssen.
On 11th December 2010, the first real ?Tram-Train? was put into operation in France. The 22 km Tram-Train line between Mulhouse Rondpoint Stricker and Thann cost 147 million Euro, 31 per cent more than planned in 1998. Tram Trains are only allowed to run on the same rail tracks when taking strict safety conditions into account. Vehicles running over a stop signal must be prevented! The same applies to flank trips on station tracks. This means all signals for Tram-Trains have to be confirmed by track diagrams and all vehicles running on these tracks are obliged to be equiped with the corresponding safety devices.
