Verknüpfung von Städtebau und Verkehr in der Praxis. Der Bahnhof Heppenheim als neuer Kristallisationspunkt im Stadtgefüge.

Abstract

Nach einer nur knapp einjährigen Bauzeit wurde der mitsamt seinem Umfeld umfassend aufgewertete Bahnhof Heppenheim kürzlich dem Betrieb übergeben. Das Projekt belegt beispielhaft, wie im Rahmen eines Gesamtprojektes ein hinsichtlich Bausubstanz und Flächennutzungen vernachlässigter Bahnhofsbereich zu einem städtebaulichen Mittelpunkt entwickelt wurde. Über die technische Dimension hinaus leistete die Planung durch die funktionale und gestalterische Belebung dabei einen aktiven Beitrag zur Stadtentwicklung und zur Aufwertung eines Quartiers. Die Konzeption legte besonderen Wert auf Komfort und Design, berücksichtigte das Sicherheitsgefühl und versuchte, städtebauliche Strukturen durch Licht und Farbe zu inszenieren. difuAfter just under one year of construction the train station in Heppenheim was opened to operation increasing the value not only for the station but also for the associated area. The project shows in an exemplary way how the neglected structure and utilization of the station area could be changed into a centre of urban development. Over and above the technical dimension this planning contributed actively to urban development and to the increased value of the region by brightening up function and design. The conception was attaching a lot of importance to luxury and design, was taking into consideration the feeling of security and was trying to present structures of urban development with light and colour. difu
