Abstract

Um die touristische Attraktivität der Vorharz- und Harzregion weiter aufzuwerten hat Sachsen-Anhalt initiiert, die Selketalbahn und damit des Netz der Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) von Gernrode (Harz) nach Quedlinburg bis zum Jahre 2006 zu verlängern. Dazu muss zunächst das regelspurige Streckengleis von Gernrode bis Quedlinburg vollständig zurückgebaut werden, um anschließend das Schmalspurgleis auf dem vorhandenen Oberbau neu aufzubauen.
