Abstract
In the course of the EU-project Urban Track, the project partners IASP, CDM and STIB are collaborating on research and development of some new efforts to green tracks. IASP is developing a technical vegetation system using pre-cultured sedum turf-grids which is pursuing the objective to run ambulances on it in any case of emergency, to reduce sounds as well as to reduce maintenance expenses and to have positive effects on life cycle costs. CDM is developing synthetic turf for the tracks as a greening alternative.
