Abstract
Über die regionalen Effekte des Infrastrukturausbaus ist in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten eine umfangreiche Fachliteratur entstanden, die den Fragen nach den möglichen Wirkungen neuer Verkehrsinfrastrukturen besonders für die regionale Wirtschaft und den Arbeitsmarkt nachgeht. Gleichzeitig findet seit Jahren mit der Stilllegung von Bahnstrecken ein nennenswerter Rückbau ehedem bedeutsamer Verkehrsinfrastrukturen statt, dessen Effekte für die Region von der Wissenschaft weitgehend unbeachtet blieben. difu
Based on the decade-long discussions bout the closure of rail links, this study is aimed at creating and testing suitable methods for the evaluation of the regional impact of secondary rail services. In order to guarantee a comprehensible comparison of the test results, the actual value analysis' method has been chosen and applied to fifteen rail links in Thuringia and to three lines extending into neighbouring federal states. The evaluation method presented in this report has produced complex and realistic research results in relation to the regional importance of railways. By also taking into account external factors, these results are primarily intended for the benefit of the relevant authorities. difu
