Abstract
During the last few decades the so called "Mobility Hubs" got worldwide increasingly into the focus of the discussions and activities in context with urban and traffic planning – in particular with transit oriented/ adjacent development. Initially the point of view was nearly exclusively concentrated on main stations of urban public rail transit systems. Meanwhile the interpretation and handling of the respective terminus became much more manifold. However, the main emphasis is/should be still on the "classical" transit-focused Hubs, including the transit oriented improvement/redevelopment of the urban environment within the catchment area of the transit station primarily constituting the Hub. The latter has been widely neglected in Germany to date; that should be changed substantially.
