Port related cargo flows in Hamburg. Results from a company survey.

Abstract

Als Bestandteil des Arbeitspaketes E des Nordsee-INTERREG III B-Projektes präsentiert der Bericht die Ergebnisse einer Unternehmensbefragung, die bei hafenorientierten Logistikunternehmen in Hamburg durchgeführt wurde. Im Rahmen der Studie wurde das Potenzial für Gütertransporte aus Meeresautobahnen via Hamburg ebenso erfasst wie die Charakteristika der Güterströme innerhalb der Region Hamburg und des angrenzenden Hinterlandes.This report presents the findings of a company survey conducted among port-oriented logistics companies in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany. The study investigated the potential for freight transport via Hamburg on Motorways of the Sea type connections as well as the characteristics of goods flows in the Hamburg region and its hinterland. This study was part of Work Package E of the INTERREG Ill B project Northern Maritime Corridor II - Motorway of the Northern Sea (2006-2008).
