Abstract

This chapter discusses the multiple roles that public parks have played in recent large-scale urban developments in East and South-East Asia. Focusing on a variety of parks built in New Towns, new cities, and new urban expansion over the last 15 years, this essay aims to highlight the design strategies and approaches to public parks in the contemporary high-density Asian City.
