Beiträge transnationaler Projekte zur europäischen Verkehrs- und Raumentwicklung.

Abstract

Im Rahmen der Programme zur transnationalen Zusammenarbeit (INTERREG B) arbeiten Städte, Regionen, Forschungseinrichtungen, Unternehmen und Verbände in staatenübergreifenden Kooperationsräumen zusammen. Innerhalb des übergreifenden Programmziels der integrierten Raumentwicklung werden in der aktuellen Förderperiode (2007-2013) auch Projekte zur Entwicklung transnationaler Verkehrskorridore, aber auch zum nachhaltigen Stadt- und Regionalverkehr sowie zur Erprobung neuer Verkehrstechnologien durchgeführt. Der Beitrag befasst sich mit der Frage, wie die Projekte die Realisierung verkehrs- und raumentwicklungspolitischer Ziele der EU unterstützen. Es wird deutlich, dass transnationale Projekte in vielfacher Weise zu einer Weiterentwicklung europäischer Verkehrskorridore beitragen, indem sie den Ausbau von Verkehrsinfrastrukturen vorbereiten, neue, multimodale Verkehrsangebote initiieren und die Korridorentwicklung um die Berücksichtigung ökologischer Belange und ökonomischer Potenziale erweitern. Bei der Weiterentwicklung des Transeuropäischen Verkehrsnetzes sollten diese Beiträge aus der transnationalen Kooperation aktiv aufgegriffen werden.In the framework of the programmes on trans-national co-operation (INTERREG B), cities, regions, research institutions, enterprises and organisations cooperate in cross-national cooperation areas. Within the comprehensive programme goal of integrated spatial development, projects for the development of trans-national transportation corridors, but also for sustainable urban and regional transportation as well as for the testing of new transportation technologies are being carried out in the current promotion period. The article considers the question how the projects support the realisation of the transportation and spatial development policy objectives of the EU. It becomes clear that transnational projects are contributing in various ways to the further development of the European transportation corridors by preparing the extension of transportation infrastructures, by initiating new, multimodal transportation offers and by supplementing corridor development with the consideration of ecological issues and economic potentials. In the further development of the Trans-European transportation network these contributions from trans-national cooperation should be taken up actively.
