Abstract
To evaluate the feasability of reducing the number of verhicles of a certain busline per hour, the public transport services from the north of Zurich - Verkehrsbetriebe Glattal AG (VBG) - and the swiss Connective Ltd. did start a common pilot project. Thereby they have used the simulation application «SIM» which was developed by Connective. The convincing aspect of this application for VBG was that the software uses real-time data as the basis of the simulation. The results came in the form of comperative analyses and were discussed and evaluated between the two parties. Within only a few weeks, VBG came to a feasiable timetable which gave them the necessary certainty for this otherwise risky modification.
