Abstract
More and more railway companies and commissioned agencies pursue operational concepts with multiple unit trains which pull out together at a station, then split up and run to different destinations. Advantages for the railway companies are many direct connections for their passengers and less personnel and railway network access costs. There are however special demands concerning passenger information on multiple unit trains. This article highlights current weaknesses and shows how a sophisticated passenger information system can look like.
