"Autonome Autos" und der ÖPNV. Bedrohen Personal-Rapid-Transit-Systeme und "autonome Pkw" den klassischen ÖPNV? Ein kritischer Ausblick.

Abstract

Seit Jahren ist ein drastischer Wandel der individuellen bodengebundenen motorisierten Mobilität zu automatischen / autonomen Fahrzeugeinheiten Gegenstand von Szenarien, Entwicklungen, Positionspapieren etc. Der "klassische" ÖPNV kommt dabei meist gar nicht mehr vor. Bei sachlicher Einordnung der vielfältigen Probleme und harten Grenzen des Einsatzes der betreffenden Systeme in der Verkehrswirklichkeit wird allerdings deutlich, dass automatischer Individualverkehr mit sehr hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit auch auf lange Sicht den klassischen ÖPNV weder ersetzen, noch in größerem Umfang in Frage stellen wird. Die für die Gestaltung des ÖPNV Verantwortlichen sollten sich darauf konzentrieren, das noch beträchtliche technologische Potenzial der Verbesserung der klassischen Systeme besser als bisher auszuschöpfen.Since years a drastic change of the individual motorized surface transportation to automaticand autonomous vehicle units respectively is subject of scenarios, development activities, position-papers et cetera. There is no need anymore for the classical transit inthe related views into the future. However, by taking into account realistically the numerous problems and limitations of introducing the respective systems into the traffic reality, it becomes obvious, that automatic / autonomous individual mobility will not substitute the classical transit systems nor even endanger it to a degree being worth mentioning. The persons/organizations in charge of the transit are well advised to concentrate on taking full advantage of the huge not yet sufficiently utilized technological potential of improving the classical systems.
