Abstract
How can public transport be strengthened? What is needed to make the most of mobility options? A cross-border study by PTV and ProgTrans provides the answers to these questions. The contractor was Trinational Eurodistrict Basel (TEB). So as to verify the effectiveness of measures, a demand model was used. For this, an existing EMME demand model was transformed into a PTV Visum model with updated availability data and information relating to the enquiry. Finally, the effect on transport for the various individual measures and sets of measures to be put into place were forecast. A list of measures was derived from the results, which were likely to have a positive effect.
