Abstract
This research starts with the phenomenon of the city being perceived as a holistic sum of experiences, based on a sequence of impressions that are the result of people's movement through the city. However, these routes - sequences of experiences - have not been the subject of deliberate planning until recently, problematically making most city sequences the result of chance. This thesis therefore aims to examine the most important elements, factors, and dramaturgic rules that conscious planning of sequences is based on. In this matter, perceptional laws in space and time are just as important as phenomena of spatial effect, or the rules of spatial dramaturgy. It is the objective to develop a model both theoretically well-founded and practically applicable as a guideline for sequence planning.
