Innerer Stadteingang als Visitenkarte - umgesetzt in Wiesbaden.

Abstract

"Stadteingänge mit identitätsstiftendem Charakter und Eindruck des Willkommens" sind ein Ziel der Stadt Wiesbaden insbesondere auch für die inneren Stadteingänge. Überzeugend umgesetzt wurde das am südlichen Eingang zum historischen Kern der Stadt zwischen neuem Kongresszentrum und Museum. Verkehrsplanerische Rahmensetzungen zur Umgestaltung des vorher desolaten Stadtraums wurden bereits 2015 in der "Straßenverkehrstechnik" behandelt. Charakteristika des neuen Stadteingangs sind weniger Kfz-Fahrstreifen ohne Einschränkung der Verkehrsfunktion, ein breiter Mittelstreifen, attraktive Vorflächen für Kongress und Museum als Ensemble, einheitliche helle Farben, Bäume und Wasserspiegel."Entrances to the city with an identity creating character and a feeling of being welcome" are an objective of the City of Wiesbaden, particulary also for the entrances to the inner city. That was realized convincingly at the southern entrance to the historical centre of the city between new Congress Centre and Museum. The framework of traffic planning for the redesign of the desolate urban space before was already in 2015 dealt with the "Straßenverkehrstechnik". Characteristics of the new inner city entrance are less lanes for motorized traffic without restricting the traffic function, a wide middle stripe, attractive areas in front of Congress and Museum as an ensemble, consistently light colours, trees and water mirrors.
