Abstract

Das autonome Fahren ist einer der Megatrends der Verkehrsbranche und wird auch den ÖPNV nachhaltig verändern. Mit dem Probebetrieb von zwei autonomen Kleinbussen am Mainufer in Frankfurt am Main startet eine Reihe von Testfeldern unter der Dachmarke „EASY“ (Electric Autonomous Shuttle for You), mit deren Hilfe das autonome Fahren in der Region Frankfurt Rhein-Main erprobt werden soll. Der äußerst erfolgreiche Testbetrieb hat gezeigt, dass nicht nur die handelnden Partner, sondern auch die Bevölkerung reif für das autonome Fahren sind und die Technik bereits heute sicher ist.Autonomous driving is one of the megatrends in the transport sector and is also going to sustainably transform public transport. With the trial operation of two self-driving minibuses along the Main riverbank in Frankfurt, a number of test routes are being introduced under the “EASY” (Electric Autonomous Shuttle for You) umbrella brand. The aim is to test autonomous driving in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region. The very successful trial run has shown that both the acting partners and the general public are ready for autonomous driving and that today’s available technology is already safe.
