Abstract
Seit 1.
With effect from January 1, 2014 all vehicles newly registered in Europe must comply with the Euro 6 exhaust-gas standard. At MAN the central components for Euro 6 are, on the engine side, common-rail-injection, cooled and controlled exhaust-gas recirculation and two-stage turbocharging. These are followed by exhaust-gas aftertreatment by an SCRT system with integrated oxidation catalytic converter plus CRT filter (Continuously Regenerating Trap). This makes the fuel consumption of MAN city buses on average three to five per cent lower than that of EEV variants.
