Wettbewerb im ÖPNV und hohe Kosten führen dazu, dass Verkehrsunternehmen am Markt reagieren. Die Gründung des Rhein-Neckar-Verkehrs (RNV) ist eine Antwort darauf in der Rhein-Neckar-Region mit den Oberzentren Heidelberg, Ludwigshafen und Mannheim.
