Postmodernisierung und Großschutzgebiete - Überlegungen zu Natur, Raum und Planung aus sozialkonstruktivistischer Perspektive.

Abstract

Vor dem Hintergrund gesellschaftlicher Postmodernisierungsprozesse muss auch die Praxis der Einrichtung und Entwicklung von Großschutzgebieten reflektiert werden. Ein wesentlicher Aspekt aktueller gesellschaftlicher Entwicklungen ist die Akzeptanz, sogar die Erwünschtheit, von Hybridbildungen auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen (so von Stadt und Land oder auch Natur und Kultur). Während Naturparke mit ihrer eher kommunikativen Ausrichtung konzeptionell postmodernen gesellschaftlichen Bedürfnissen deutlicher entsprechen, sind Nationalparke stark von einer modernistischen Logik der exklusivistischen Durchsetzung der stark auf die "Reinheit" von Natur beruhenden Logik ausgerichtet. Biosphärenreservate ordnen sich zwischen diesen beiden Polen ein.Against the background of post-modernisation processes in society it is necessary to reflect on the practice of establishing and developing large-scale protected areas. A significant aspect of current social developments is the acceptance of, and indeed the desire for, hybrid constructs on various levels (thus urban and rural, or nature and culture). While nature parks have a communicative focus that tends to conceptually correspond with the post-modern requirements of society, national parks primarily follow a modernist logic based on the exclusive aim of conserving the purity of nature. Biosphere reserves occupy a position somewhere between these two poles.
