Abstract
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) als kostengünstige und schnell umsetzbare Alternative zu Light Rail und Metro steht für eine der größten ÖPNV-Innovationen der letzten Jahre. Südamerika mit Curitiba, Quito und Bogotá war das Entwicklungslabor. Der Verfasser behandelt diese BRT-Systeme aus eigener Anschauung und Erfahrung.
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) as a cost-effective and fast implemented alternative to Light Rail and Metro is one of the most important innovations in public transport in recent years. With Curitiba, Quito and Bogotá South America acted as research laboratory. The author deals with these BRT-systems on the basis of his own experience and views.
