Abstract
Development of the e-bus in Germany: present situation and perspectives. The development of the eco-friendly public transport takes place on basis of many transport companies and their engagement. Here, different drive systems have been tested and developed in cooperation with the industry beginning from H2 via biogas, battery-trolley up to battery technologies. The EBUS steering group of the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) has summarized a lot of experiences and recommendations in a series of publication in order to strategically work on the previous know-how. Furthermore, preparations to set up a European Norm by standardizing charger interfaces were launched and the policy papers have been prepared. With support of further development funds by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conversation, Building and Nuclear Safety, the technical as well as the operational experiences may have an inluence on further developments so the commercial frame condition for the operation of battery buses may be more calculable as soon as possible.
