Abstract
Railway safety systems are conventionally installed in the tracks on a concrete or wooden sleeper. This process is often complex, resource intensive and inflexible, and usually requires the line to be closed completely. Weco GmbH has developed a modular holder, which offers flexible and cost-efficient installation, and which does not depend on sleepers. The Weco Speedhalter is fitted on the base of the rail rather than the sleeper, and is adjusted to varying installation situations via adapters. This allows quick installation and removal without the need to close the line. Further developments, such as in cooperation with the elevated railway operator Hamburg Hochbahn, illustrate the variety of possible uses.
