Abstract

Durch einen Begleitdienst im ÖPNV kann die Situation mobilitätseingeschränkter Menschen sofort, nachhaltig und spürbar verbessert werden, noch bevor der gesamte ÖPNV barrierefrei gestaltet ist. IT-Unterstützung erlaubt, diese Dienstleistung auf optimale Weise zu realisieren, so dass sich mit einer relativ geringen Menge von Lotsen ein großer räumlicher Bereich abdecken lässt: ein wichtiges Kriterium für die Durchführbarkeit, ausgehend von urbanen Ballungsgebieten bis hin zum ländlichen Raum.Accompanying mobility challenged people in public transport is a means to noticeably ameliorate their mobility situation, even in situations and places where public transport is not fully accessible. IT support allows cities and public transport companies to offer this service to their citizens and customers in a scalable and economically viable manner. This article describes such a system that offers accompanying services in public transport in cities, between cities and extending into rural areas.
