Abstract

Anfang November 2006 ist in Nantes die Linie 4 eröffnet worden, ein Bussystem auf Vorrangtrasse. Vermarktung und Betrieb des so genannten Bus Way erfolgen eins zu eins, wie dies bei einer zeitgemäßen Straßenbahneinführung der Fall wäre. Die durchgehende Vorrangtrasse erforderte den Rückbau einer vierstreifigen Schnellstraße und steht im Einklang mit dem Verkehrsentwicklungsplan, der eine Stärkung des Umweltverbundes vorsieht. Der Beitrag stellt Planung, Betrieb sowie die städtebauliche Integration des BusWay in den Mittelpunkt. difuAt the beginning of November 2006, Nantes started to run a bus system called Bus Way. It is 7,0 km long with 15 stops and most of its length is on-road but exclusive to the buses and with priority at traffic lights. The intention was to have substantial road capacity reductions towards the centre which caused a deconstruction of a four-lane motorway to a two-lane road with busway. The article describes the PT system as a whole, the construction and operation of the busway, the articulated natural gas buses and the redesign of streets and places. difu
