Neuer Siedlungsbau in Deutschland. Über das Verhältnis von Wohnungsangebot und Infrastruktur.

Abstract

Der Artikel zielt darauf ab, einen Querblick über die Siedlungsentwicklungen an den Rändern von Hamburg, Frankfurt und Berlin zu leisten und dabei zu erörtern, inwiefern der heutige quantitativ umfangreiche Wohnungsbau an dessen Stadträndern an vergangene Siedlungsbauepochen anknüpft – vor allem, weil die neuen Quartiere in der Nachbarschaft zu Siedlungen des 20. Jh. bzw. der Jahrtausendwende entstehen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die sozio-infrastrukturelle Ausstattung und die Rolle der Wohnungsbauakteure gelegt. Ersteres wird in Verknüpfung zu mobilitätspolitischen Ansprüchen verhandelt, letztere in Bezug auf die unterschiedliche Verfasstheit der Akteure (z.B. öffentlich, genossenschaftlich). Der Artikel reflektiert die Forschungen im Kasseler Verbund Neue Suburbanität und basiert auf Begehungen der Stadträume und Interviews mit der Wohnungswirtschaft.The article aims is to provide a cross-sectionals overview of the developments in the outskirts of Hamburg, Frankfurt and Berlin. Large-scale housing is built – at least according to the quantities. The article therefore discusses the links of today’s development to past epochs: modern housing of the 20th century as well as the time around 2000 – above all because the new areas are spatial neighbors of their ‘predecessors.’ Particular attention is paid to the socio-infrastructural equipment and the role of housing companies. The former links to recent changes in mobility policies, the latter to current housing policy debates and the specific roles of housing companies (e.g. public, cooperative). The article reflects the research of the research project New Suburbanisms. It is based, among other, on site surveys and expert interviews with housing companies.
