Abstract

Mobilitäts- und damit zusammenhängende Umweltthemen werden bislang kaum explizit für Kleinstädte beforscht. Im Fokus stehen Raumtypen mit hoher (Großstadt) bzw. geringer (ländlicher Raum) Nutzerdichte. Der Beitrag fasst den Forschungsstand für Kleinstädte zusammen und argumentiert, dass Kleinstädte je nach Lage spezifische Voraussetzungen für die Organisation von Mobilitätsangeboten haben, insbesondere im Hinblick auf Innovationen im Verkehrssektor.Mobility and the associated environmental topics have been subject to very little research in the explicit context of small towns. The focus has been on areas with a higher (cities) or lower (rural areas) density of users. The article summarises the state of research for small towns and argues that, depending on their location, small towns have specific requirements for the organisation of mobility, particularly in terms of innovations in the transport sector.
