Abstract
At the beginning of 2006, the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH (LVB) had about 401 streetcars at its disposal. By the year 2001, 56 eight-axle low-floor articulated power cars, NGT 8, as well as 38 low-floor trailer, NB4, had been bought. They can be couppled with the modernized Tatra power cars, if required. From 2010, the LVB wants to offer and to guarantee a sufficient supply of low-floor vehicles suitable for easy access for handicapped persons within the net area. As a new acquisition, they selected the 45 m long city waggon Classic XXL. Additionally, 30 Leoliner vehicles have been bought. After the delivery of these vehicles, an almost area-wide service of low-floor vehicles may be possible. difu
