Abstract
In order to boost the economic efficiency of hybrid buses in public transport, in future an emphasis will be placed on optimising auxiliary units, e.g. heating and air conditioning. Within the scope of the Load synchronous thermal management research project conducted together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Transport and Infrastructure Systems (IVI) Dresden, Gilching-based bus air conditioning specialist Spheros has developed a special air conditioning system for hybrid city buses. It enables peak loads to be reduced in by predictive control of the components, thus cutting energy consumption.
