Abstract
Die Abtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (AVG) und die Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe GmbH (VBK) haben 30 Zweisystemfahrzeuge des Typs Flexity Swift von Bombardier Transportation bestellt. Der Artikel beschreibt das Zusammenspiel von Verkehrsbetrieb, Hersteller und Designer bei der Konzeption des Fahrzeugs. Das 37 m lange Zweirichtungsfahrzeug wird Ende 2011 in Karlsruhe unterwegs sein.
The Abtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (AVG) and the Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe GmbH (VBK) have ordered 30 Flexity Swift type dual-system tram-trains from Bombardier Transportation. This article describes the cooperation between transport authority, manufacturer and designer in designing the vehicle. The 37 m bidirectional vehicle, whose interior is walkable throughout its entire length, will be en route in Karlsruhe at the end of 2011.
