Gera eröffnet Stadtbahnlinie 1. 6 km lange neue Verbindung schließt Hauptbahnhof ans Netz an.

Abstract

Anfang November ist in Gera die Stadtbahnlinie 1 eröffnet worden. Auf der 6 km langen Neubaustrecke zwischen den Stadtteilen Zwötzen und Untermhaus verkehrt die Linie 1 im Zehn-Minuten-Takt mit neuen Bahnen, den NGT8G. Mit der neuen Strecke ist ein Stadtbahnnetz aus drei Linien entstanden, die städtischen Busse bedienen die Ost-West-Achse Geras und haben sonst vor allem Zubringerfunktion zu den Straßenbahnen. Während der vierjährigen Bauzeit sind Straßen und Plätze entlang der neuen Strecke unter- und oberirdisch saniert und neu gestaltet worden. Viele Ziele der Stadtbahn sind während des Stadtbahnbaus zugleich auch attraktiver geworden. difuAt the beginning of November, Gera started the running of the tramway line No.1.
