Abstract
Nach der Einstellung aller Nebenstrecken in der Region zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre hat der zuständige Aufgabenträger für den SPNV (damals AVV, heute NVR) 1998 ein Konzept zur Neuordnung des gesamten Regionalverkehrs erarbeitet. Darin einbezogen waren auch stillgelegte Bahnstrecken. Im Mittelpunkt des Konzeptes steht die Euregiobahn. Sechs Ausbaustufen wurden bisher realisiert,der Baubeginn für den siebten Streckenabschnitt fand am 19. April 2010 statt.
Upon cessation of all side-tracks in the tri-border region in the beginning of the 80's, the responsible authority of the local public transport (formerly AVV, today NVR) developed a concept to reorganize the entire regional traffic in 1998. It even comprised tracks which were ceased before. The concept focuses on the EuregioRail. Until now, six expansion stages have been realized and the start of construction for the 7th stage was on 19th April 2010.
