Abstract
The poor stage of the railways on crucial infrastructures areas like tracks and bridges are depleted due to the lack of investment and maintenance from DB Netz AG over the past decades. In order to avoid major upsets to the network as well to keep it operative and available, some construction works must be carry out immediately. The complex construction sites as well as line closures on the network have a major impact on traffic and lead to immense revenue losses for the railway companies in VRR. A comprehensive replacement concept and constructive cooperation from all parties involved is needed in order to ensure the passenger mobility and reduce financial risk for the railway companies.
