Integrierte Erneuerung von Amsterdams Hochhausgebiet Bijlmermeer. Eine der schönsten und bekanntesten Hochhaussiedlungen ist das Bijlmermeer in Amsterdam. Über Jahre hinweg war diese Siedlung ein leuchtendes Beispiel für die hohen Erwartungen und Ideen der modernen Planung, für die Enttäuschung, Probleme und Narben zahlreicher Verbesserungsversuche und heute für einen radikalen Umbau mit integriertem Ansatz. Der Beitrag beschreibt und analysiert die Entwicklungen in Bijlmermeer und stellt diese in einen internationalen und historischen Kontext. Er will aufzeigen, wie negative Entwicklungen sich gegenseitig verstärkt haben und wie ungenügend frühere Verbesserungsmaßnahmen waren.
