Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe planen neues Busliniennetz. Optimierte Stadtteil-Verbindungen und bessere Verkehrserschließung.

Abstract

Die Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe planen zum Fahrplanwechsel im Herbst 2010 eine umfassende Neuordnung ihres Busliniennetzes. Kennzeichnend für das neue Netz sind zahlreiche neue Verbindungen und Taktverbesserungen sowie eine Stärkung des Gesamtsystems ÖPNV durch eine bessere Verknüpfung zwischen Bus und Schienenverkehr. Daneben wird das Busnetz bereits auf die 2013 bevorstehende Inbetriebnahme des S-Bahn-Citytunnels vorbereitet. Der Artikel beschreibt anhand konkreter Beispiele die Planungsmethodik sowie die Angebotsphilosophie des neuen Busnetzes.The Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe intend to reorganize their bus network with the change of timetable in the autumn of 2010. Characteristic of the new network are numerous new connections and frequency improvements as well as a strengthening of the public transport system as a whole due to a better linking of bus and rail traffic. Besides that, the bus network is prepared for the upcoming opening of the Leipzig city tunnel in 2013. This article describes by means of specific examples the planning methods as well as the supply philosophy of the new bus network.
