Abstract
Since several years the use of bicycles has been increased in Germany. The bicycles? potential and its contribution to the environment has been developed before by the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) and numerous transportation companies but they have also seen the risks for the local public transport and acted accordingly. The VAG transport corporation Nuremberg has been working intensively for more than 25 years with the ?bike? and is going to expand its activities in this area due to the present situation. For VAG this includes bike parks at stops and regular analyses of the B+R system and its bike turnover. Further fields of activity like bike sign-postings, multiplier corporation or specific marketing and company bikes are also to be worked on.
