Transit-Oriented Development. Eine internationale Literaturauswertung.

Abstract

Die Grundidee des Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) ist die Konzentration der Siedlungsentwicklung an Bahnhaltepunkten. Die Analyse international vorliegender Untersuchungen verdeutlicht die positiven Wirkungen dieses Konzepts: Verlagerung des Verkehrs auf die Schiene, kompaktere nachhaltigere Siedlungs-, Einwohner:innen- und Beschäftigungsentwicklungen. Deutlich wird aber auch vor allem in den USA, dass bei der Planung von TOD-Standorten Auswirkungen auf Bodenpreise und mögliche negative Wirkungen für einkommensschwächere Bevölkerungsgruppen beachtet werden müssen.The basic idea of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is the concentration of settlement development at railway stops. The analysis of existing international studies illustrates the positive effects of this concept: shifting traffic to rail, more compact and sustainable settlement, population and employment developments. It also becomes clear, particularly in the USA, that effects on land prices and negative impact on lower-income groups must be taken into account when planning TOD locations.
