Aufsatz aus Sammelwerk Aufsatz aus Sammelwerk Arbeitskreis zur Förderung des Radverkehrs . Der Berliner FahrRat. Bicycle infrastructure that ignores the street network.(2018, Routledge) Fleming, StevenIn the article the term "cycle space" is used to describe the worlds cyclist build around themselves with clothing, accoutrements, sometimes architecture and invariably safe routes through cities. Cognitively and actually cycle space is built to attain an own sense of fulfillment and safety as cyclists. Working through the five elements that according to Lynch define our images of our cities, that "path" can be generalized in the minds of most cyclists would incorporate a few easements corresponding to former bulk haulage routes; that "edges" for cyclists are less likely to be shoplined than lined with blank walls, graffiti, and wire fences; that cyclists' "districts" could include derelict zones that meither industry nor mainstream car-dependent society are actively contesting; that bike riders' "nodes" will have no markers put there by governments; and that something like a culvert section under a highway is more likely to be a "landmark" for cyclists than any civic monument or sign of commerce.Aufsatz aus Sammelwerk Bike+Ride-Konzepte für Großstädte oder Ballungsräume - Schlussfolgerungen aus Münchner Untersuchungen. (3.3.6.4)(2006, Wichmann) Bickelbacher, PaulAufsatz aus Sammelwerk Can Public Bike Sharing Systems Encourage Migrant Women to Use Bicycles?(2020) Segert, Astrid; Brunmayr, ElizaTo increase the number of cyclists more detailed knowledge about potential user groups is required. This article provides empirical results on one such potential user group: migrant women who did not learn to cycle in their childhood but then trained in adult cycling courses. We argue that many of these migrant women interested in cycling will not own bikes even after successfully finishing the course. This article considers whether and how the use of public bike schemes (PBS) can bridge this gap between (re-)starting cycling and owning a bike. In an experimental setting, a PBS-training-module was tested and a survey among migrant cycling course participants was conducted.Aufsatz aus Sammelwerk Commuter cycling and health.(2011, MetaGIS Infosysteme) Andersen, Bo; Cooper, Ashley R.Commuter cycling may potentially improve health in the population. Commuter cyclists have lower mortality rate, and studies in children suggest that cyclists are more fit. Most studies about cycling and health are observational studies, and little has been published where the effects of interventions have been tested. The chapter highlights some of the key results from the prospective studies, and provide new data on health benefits of cycling to school. Higher physical fitness level was found in children cycling to school compared to passive travellers whereas walkers have similar fitness level as passive travellers. Cardiovascular risk factor profile is also better in cyclists, and in the most recent data a difference between cyclists and passive travellers or walkers of 1.29 SD was found in composite CVD risk factor score consisting of the sum of z-scores for systolic blood pressure, triglyceride, cholesterol:HDL ratio, HOMA score, sum of skinfolds and low fitness. The odds ration of having clustered risk was 0.49 (95% CI 0.30-0.80) in cyclist compared to passive travelers, but no protection was found for walking. Ein wesentlicher Aspekt seines Beitrags sind die Konsequenzen, die aus dem verstärkten Auftreten des Pedelecs für die Gestaltung der Infrastrukturen zu ziehen sind.Aufsatz aus Sammelwerk E.
