The potential danger for cyclists on main roads with and without advisory cycle lanes was determined in the research project. Moreover, the impact of cyclists in mixed traffic on the performance and level of service of road sections should be identified. An advisory cycle lane is a good alternative to a mandatory cycle lane in mixed traffic, when the usage conditions and design parameters are observed.
