As part of nearly all our activities - from production to consumption and the organization of our leisure time - we make use of public road transport. Nonetheless, discussions of political and transportation science-related matters appear to focus only on road transport costs, while the benefits generated by road transport and infrastructure for the national economy tend not to be given sufficient consideration. The reason for this is the habitual underestimation of road transport as a self-contained economic entity.
