Die Analyse international vorliegender Untersuchungen verdeutlicht die positiven Wirkungen dieses Konzepts: Verlagerung des Verkehrs auf die Schiene, kompaktere nachhaltigere Siedlungs-, Einwohner:innen- und Beschäftigungsentwicklungen. Deutlich wird aber auch vor allem in den USA, dass bei der Planung von TOD-Standorten Auswirkungen auf Bodenpreise und mögliche negative Wirkungen für einkommensschwächere Bevölkerungsgruppen beachtet werden müssen.The basic idea of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is the concentration of settlement development at railway stops. The analysis of existing international studies illustrates the positive effects of this concept: shifting traffic to rail, more compact and sustainable settlement, population and employment developments.
